Gallery Communicating Student Learning

Along with our new BC curriculum, assessment practices are also evolving. We invited parents last spring to learn more about these changes:

    •  a shift of focus from summative assessment to formative assessment

    • a greater focus on the learning process and how to support student improvement

    • use of tools such as portfolios and blogs to communicate student learning in a more responsive and timely way – and in a way that empowers students to take ownership of their learning and engages parents in the learning process

    • Ministry of Education proficiency scales will replace letter grades

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or phone us, or stop by the school any time. For more information, please read this speech & powerpoint presented by Mr. Heard at the Parents as Partners event last spring – see links below
